Do Something Wild!
It's official - the holidays are upon us!
Many people prep for days for a big Thanksgiving dinner and then deck out their house to the max.
Not me! I make turkeys all throughout the year and always give thanks. I buy a 20lb turkey, slap on some paprika, kosher salt, coarse pepper, and fresh garlic, rub it all in and throw it in the oven for 3 1/2 hours. My side dishes are pretty simple too. I don't believe in spending too much time in the kitchen. I'm not a baker, I'm a cook. I don't measure and I don't believe in tiptoeing around the house so that my cakes or breads won't fall flat. No way. Sides are salads, stuffing, a potato dish and this year I actually made squash soup that was beyond fab! Fast forward to the clean up, which I cannot stand. I wish I could wiggle my nose and throw some glitter up in the air and have it cleaned in a second. We can all hope, right?
Well, this year I was the mom of the year and took my kids out at midnight so they could experience #blackfriday! I've never taken the ride myself and it was one for the books. I never knew people really shopped like that at midnight! I'm usually in my pj's and working. It's a one and done kinda thing. Check that one off my list.
Now, it's my time. My favorite time of the year. It's when my customers come to me and shop. I find them all the best deals on jewelry. Done it all my life. This is my thrill. My adrenaline rush. Nothing makes me more happy than making others happy. I'm able to box that special gift for their friend, significant other, family member or co-worker. I search all year for the "perfect" gifts for everyone all over the world. It's the trust that everyone has in me to fulfill their desire to make their special "someone" happy.
I seriously love it. I love everything about it. The holiday spirit, music, excitement, festivities and cheer. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
